Hi, I’m Yee Yang — an engineer, tinkerer, and lifelong learner who loves to build products, tools, and explore new technologies. I am currently an AI Engineer at Balyasny Asset Management, working at the intersection of machine learning and quantitative finance.
My goal in life is to learn as much as I can, solve challenging problems, and achieve things that are meaningful, engaging, and valuable. I hold a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Deep Learning, Computer Vision) from NTU Singapore.

Collaborated with the VITA research group on computer vision research during a 6-month research exchange at UT Austin.
inspections.ai develops “Visual-AI-as-a-service”, using ML & smart cameras to extract operational data from images and video streams.
- Spearheaded technical development for 2 pilot projects with total value of approx. S$300K, successfully delivered with all KPIs achieved.
- Developed 4 visual AI models for PPE detection, behaviour analysis, and construction machinery extraction from CCTVs.
